Every now and then I get questions about how I manage to keep the tune with out Locking tremolo. Here's a story, why and how.

WHY I DECIDED TO GO WITH NON LOCKING TREMOLO
I played years with a guitar that had a locking tremolo system. Then I did some gigs with a band that had another guitarist (Mr. Joel Melasniemi) as well. Joel didn't have a tremolo at all. Huh, can you believe it?! It took him a couple of minutes to change the strings. But for me it took much longer, I think it was more like half an hour to get the whole job done.
I got so tired of this tuning operation and decided to try something totally different. I bought a new guitar, a classic Fender stratocaster with the vintage tremolo and Kluson tuners and very fat neck. Rock and Roll!
The guitar sounded very fat and big. But it didn't stay well in tune. Each time I performed whammy bar action I was out of tune. But I found out the real problem with getting out of tune wasn't because of the whammy bar. The real problem was found behind the nut.

Here's few tips that can help you on such problems.
