He may look like a two dimensional character – but his guitar playing goes far beyond three!

Mr. Fastfinger is a guitarist and shred mentor. His mission is to spread the joy of guitar playing.He left behind the normal life at very young age, and went in search of truth. Fastfinger was washed ashore on a beach. His only luggage was an electric guitar. He found his physical and mental bliss from a desert island. Devoted to his instrument, he began the search of purity and beauty of shredding.Young Fastfinger spent all of his time on training and jamming with his guitar. For many years, the world was unaware of Mr. Fastfinger’s exploding solos as he kept his volume resonalbly low. In 2004 Finnish Mika Tyyskä found Mr.Fastfinger. They came up with an idea of spreading Mr. Fastfinger’s wisdom and visions of guitar playing with the world.

Sharing the wisdom of the guitar

In 2005 producer (and also a guitarist) Mika Tyyskä created something totally new and special together with the character of Mr. Fastfinger. GuitarShredShow.com devastated the guitar scene with the unique online guitar school . Mysterious sensei and his adventurous animated guitar lessons made millions of people jam the boogie all over the planet. Mr. Fastfinger achieved worldwide respect from guitar players and the website won many, many important multimedia awards globally. In 2006 Mr. Fastfinger’s custom guitar was designed together with the German guitar luthier Ben Reuters. The guitar is know as the “Qian”.

Mr. Fastfinger then hooked up with the Danish company TC Electronic. The Magic Carpet Tour -game lesson was produced and published in 2007.

Early 2008 Mr. Fastfinger’s the 7 Wisdoms of the Tone was released on Hughes-and-Kettner.com. Mr. Fastfinger shares his knowlegde in his personal animated way.

Mr. Fastfinger demos and workshops

During all these years Mika and Mr. Fastfinger have found themselves playing live around Europe and Japan, doing guitar clinics for Hughes & Kettner and TC Electronic. Magic duo of Mika and Fastfinger was possible to realize thanks to the modern technologies like DVD and TV screens. Duo had the joy and honour to guest appear at Mattias Eklundh‘s Freak Guitar camp in Sweden and Christophe Godin‘s Cartoon week in France. Mika has also been doing regular Mr. Fastfinger -workshops at Modern Music School in Germany since 2007. Sharing the knowledge and wisdoms of Fastfinger’s exploding guitar style.

Recording artist

Yattaaa! In 2009 Mr. Fastfinger’s debut solo album was finally released. The Way of the Exploding Guitar (2009) is a journey to the world of Mr.Fastfinger. Album is an adventure, packed with energy, emotions and kickass attitude. Hard rock! Ambitious album is essentially what ultimate instrumental guitar music is all about. And much more. Fastfinger had the honour of including high-class guests on the album such as Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), Mattias Eklundh, Christophe Godin and Niko Tsonev.

Mr. Fastfinger has also had the honour of guest appearing on some of his favourite guitar players albums. First Niko Tsonev asked him for a friendly battle on his Black Feather. Then Timo Kämäräinen requested a special solo for one of his tracks on his latest solo album “Pulpae”. Mika/Fastfinger have also been enjoying delivering a solo for Pepe Deluxe’s album “Spare Time Machine”.

Mr. Fastfinger and Mika are continuing to share the knowledge and wisdom of guitar playing. In both real world and online. MrFastfinger.net has grown to be a great source of guitar knowledge to many guitarists. Spring 2010 Mr. Fastfinger did his first major gig with his own Band. Mr. Fastfinger Band performed at Kitarasankari Concert in Raisio, Finland. Supporting major guitar acts like Thomas Blug, Ben Granfelt and Heikki Silvennoinen. Mr. Fastfinger band is Mr. Fastfinger & Mika Tyyskä – Guitar, Lasse Rantanen – Bass, Thomas Törnroos – Drums, Kalle Katz, Keyboards.

Currently sensei and his band is secretly working on new music to the next album. Mr. Fastfinger is about to take the guitar instrumental music into the next level. Music is more than just notes – every song is an event.

Where did Mr.Fastfinger learn guitar from Lord Paul of Gilbert or Prince Steve of Vai?

- There has been many influences. When I was very young, I paid attention to musicians such as Steve Vai, Frank Zappa, Eddie Van Halen, Marty Friedman, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix. Now I receive my inspiration everywhere. I listen to birds and sounds of the nature.

Could you make a shred techniques school to this site I would love to learn shredding from da Mr.FastFinger?

- Lessons area of this site covers many important tools to making music. We keep updating it.

No chance of a tab of the show off solo?

- “The Exploding Show Off Solo” can be found from the Lessons section.

And I would like to see those lessons in spanish too you need to remember there are a lot of people who play guitar and do not know understand English very well.

- That would be good. I better study spanish now.

RIG variation I: Ben Reuters “Qian” guitar > Menatone Blue Collar medium overdrive> Hughes & Kettner “Triamp” amp TC electronic G-system. With this setup the overdrive is combination of both Menatone pedal and Hughes & Kettner amp.
RIG variation II: Ben Reuters “Qian” guitar > Hughes & Kettner “Switchblade” amp TC electronic G-system. With this setup, no need for booster pedals infront.
